Today’s guest is one of the most diversely talented leaders I know in the beauty industry. Over his more than 30-year career, he’s owned salons and beauty schools, led national education organizations, and worked with industry leaders, regulators, and policymakers to strengthen beauty education and expand career opportunities. He’s the president and COO of the Salon Professional Education Company, and the franchisor behind The Salon Professional Academy and Elevate Salon Institute. He is actively involved in state and federal advocacy for our industry, and that’s exactly why I wanted him here. With major changes to federal education policy and funding that will certainly impact beauty schools, future stylists, and ultimately salon owners, we need to understand what’s happening and what it means for all of us. Full disclosure, I’m a beauty school owner and part of this franchise, and today I’m not shying away from the hard questions about what our industry may be facing and what we can do about it. Let's get into it with this week’s Headcase, Mr Anthony Civitano.
