In 2024, UNAIDS released a report that shows that the world can meet the agreed goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 – but only if leaders protect the human rights of everyone living with and at risk of HIV. Four years away from that deadline, where does the world stand? According to UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima, human rights violations are still in the way of the world from ending AIDS.
