"I think it’s okay to be a little bit funny. And I take being funny very seriously." — Martha Hviid
Martha Hviid is a Danish artist working across sculpture, installation, drawing, sound, text and scent.
Her work explores how we experience things through our bodies and senses, and how familiar materials can suddenly become playful, strange or unsettling.
We talk about choosing art over architecture, humour, public space and why an artwork might make you want to touch it, or even lick it. There is also tactility, language, AI and the question of what sculpture can actually do.
This episode of SUPERVOX is hosted by Anna Fernsten Nilén, Curator & Cultural Strategist.
