Patrick Clancy's attorney says the social-media accusations against him crossed a line after Lindsay Clancy's murder trial ended in a September 4 mistrial. Howard Cooper's September 8 statement called the claims a defamation campaign, said law enforcement had been notified, and warned that legal consequences could follow. No public evidence has implicated Patrick in the deaths of his three children.
That has not stopped strangers from dissecting his life. Patrick testified as the Commonwealth's first witness about Lindsay's decline, the events of January 24, 2023 and the devastating 911 call. He later moved to New York, remarried and tried to rebuild. Online, those choices became fuel for unsupported theories instead of evidence of a surviving parent trying to live after losing Cora, Dawson and Callan.
Kevin Reddington added another layer after the mistrial. Asked about internet claims targeting Patrick, Lindsay's attorney said Patrick had not been accused by him. Reddington also said he did not dismiss internet investigators and remarked on how TikTok and Instagram users can ferret out facts and conduct their own investigations. Reddington's praise for online investigation lands inside an environment already treating speculation like proof.
Tony Brueski brings retired FBI behavioral analyst Robin Dreeke and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott into the conversation. Dreeke examines how people turn fragments of behavior into a narrative of guilt. Scott looks at why remarriage, forgiveness and the outward appearance of grief become character tests for people watching from a distance.
Patrick's lawyer has now put the accusers on notice. The harder question is whether the internet can recognize the difference between asking questions and inventing a case against someone.
