Two sites, two extremes of American Samoa's story. A'a Village Site sits on a remote ridge above Fagamalo — house foundations, stone walls, graves, and platform mounds spread across four areas, with occupation dating back roughly 600 BCE. That makes it the oldest known settlement identified anywhere on Tutuila so far. Tulauta, inland in the Tula Valley, tells a quieter story — a prehistoric village tied to the basalt quarry on the ridge just above it.
Pt. 3 of our American Samoa arc, still working straight through the Ancient Oceania Network atlas.
