Tay’s story begins in Kansas City, where childhood fights slowly turned into a life surrounded by shootings, street politics and survival. By 15, he had committed his first robbery. Years later, one decision put him in front of a prosecutor offering 25 years, before a judge ultimately gave him an open plea of 10 years.

In this episode of Indelibly Marked, Tay opens up about growing up in different Kansas City neighborhoods, becoming part of the street life, losing people close to him, prison, fatherhood, and what it felt like watching his daughters grow while he was locked away.

He also talks about coming home with a different mindset and the message he would give his younger self today: pride and ego can cost you your freedom, your future, and sometimes your life.

This is a raw conversation about consequences, survival, growth, accountability and what it takes to change direction.
