Rachel Mortenson ON: Small town upbringing to becoming a successful model, being a single mother in her early 20’s to now being an empty nester, and being okay with wanting more for yourself
Happy New Year everybody! Welcome back to a brand new episode. I’m joined today by Rachel Mortenson, and it’s such a great episode. Listening to Rachel’s story is like watching a really great movie. From growing up in a small town, to having her daughter at the age of 21, to waitressing at Hooters, to winning the Hooters pageant, to getting signed to one of the top modeling agencies, and moving on to became an extremely successful model, to now being an empty nester while her daughter is off at college, Rachel shares the highs and lows of it all. Rachel’s transparency is so refreshing, especially when it comes to talking about the sacrifices she has to make in order to work in the industry as a model. She also shares her experience with raising a daughter while working in this industry, and what role that’s played in her daughter’s self image. I really enjoyed my conversation with Rachel. She’s funny, entertaining, transparent, authentic, and reminds us all that it’s okay to want more for yourself. I know you all are going to love her too. Enjoy guys!
