In this episode of The Danette May Show, I’m sharing why the documentary Trust Me: The False Prophet stirred something so deep in me and why I felt called to open a larger conversation around belief systems, religious conditioning, control, and self-trust. As someone raised in the Mormon/LDS faith, I reflect on my own roots, my early questions around polygamy, obedience, and the stories I was taught, and how those experiences shaped the way I understood truth, authority, and my own inner voice.

This episode is an invitation to look beyond one documentary and ask where brainwashing, manipulation, cognitive dissonance, or inherited beliefs may be showing up in your own life. Whether it is in religion, relationships, family systems, work, or community, I hope this conversation helps you create space, listen to your body, question what no longer feels aligned, and begin reclaiming your voice, your freedom, and your ability to trust yourself again.

I reflect on the documentary Trust Me: The False Prophet and the deeper lessons around belief systems, control, cognitive dissonance, and self-trust. This episode is an independent commentary and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Netflix.
