You’re Defining Success the Wrong Way | S4E40 BEYOND THE LETTER PODCAST

What happens when you stop trying to impress the people you think can open doors for you?In this episode of Beyond the Letter, Will, Sammy, and Jeff talk about ambition, people-pleasing, success, obedience, waiting seasons, and learning how to recognize what God is actually doing in your life.Jeff opens up about the moment he realized he had placed too much weight on influential people, hoping the right connection would eventually unlock his future. Once he stopped treating people as his source, he began learning how to show up authentically and trust God with the opportunities that followed. The conversation also gets into needing fresh oil for new seasons, why someone else’s harvest can make your season of plowing feel like failure, and the danger of measuring your life by somebody else’s definition of success.Jeff also shares a wild story about speaking at a non-Christian business event where he felt led to give an altar call—even though he was afraid it might cost him future opportunities. More than 100 people raised their hands to respond to Jesus, reinforcing the very lesson they spend the episode unpacking: obedience matters more than protecting your image.Stop performing for people.
