S5:E16 Meet Chilli: Mount Buller’s Ski Patrol Therapy Dog (Guest: Tess Hoinville)
What does a therapy dog do on a ski patrol team?
In this episode, Sam chats with Mount Buller ski patroller Tess about her Duck Tolling Retriever, Chilli, and the resort’s new canine support program.
Tess shares how the idea came about, what it took to get Chilli trained and accredited through Therapy Dogs Australia, and how Chilli is now providing reassurance and distraction for injured or distressed guests on the mountain.
From supporting children in the medical centre to helping a shaken skier regain their confidence, it’s a fascinating look at therapy dog work in a very different environment.
