What happens when someone with no hunting background discovers the outdoors for the first time at 30 years old?
Recorded live from DUX 2026, host Matt Harrison sits down with Christian Zeron, along with Austin Collins of the Quack Shack Podcast, to discuss hunting, conservation, culture, and why the outdoors has had such a profound impact on his life.
Christian shares how a lifelong fascination with outdoor culture eventually led him into duck hunting, turkey hunting, and conservation. Coming from New Jersey with little exposure to hunting traditions, he describes what it was like stepping into a completely new world and discovering a community that welcomed him with open arms. Along the way, the conversation explores regional stereotypes, public perceptions of hunting, the value of conservation organizations, and why protecting wildlife habitat is a responsibility that transcends politics and geography.
The discussion also highlights the role podcasts, social media, and personal relationships play in introducing new people to hunting and helping them understand the conservation mission behind it.
