After nearly two weeks of negotiations, Pennsylvania lawmakers passed a state budget. A $50.8 billion deal – sending more money to school districts and rape crisis centers. And while this spending plan came in 12 days after the constitutional deadline, the process wasn’t as chaotic and dramatic as last year’s record 135-day impasse. Host Trenae Nuri and Stephen Caruso, capitol reporter for Spotlight PA, also chat about other major (and majorly controversial) policy issues that lawmakers are still sparring over in Pennsylvania.
