#19 Flâneuse ft. Delphi Bouchier Hayes

Dela

The term flâneur, popularised in the 19th century, conjures up notions of an idler, of Baudelaire, of an urban walker.

But can a woman be a flâneur?

Joined by flâneurie expert Delphi Bouchier Hayes, we'll be deconstructing the feminist concept of the flâneuse and how women can reclaim male-dominated spaces with their feet.

And from safety to form of exercise, from protest to mode of transportation - the liberating powers of a good walk.

BOOK: Flâneuse: Women Walk The Cities in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Venice and London by Lauren Elkin (2017)
