Ages Before Genesis, Revelation 12 & the Underworld

In Ancient Roots of Life #49, JT and Josh continue digging into one of the most overlooked biblical concepts: the ages.

If Scripture speaks about ages before us, the end of the ages in the apostolic generation, and ages still to come, have we misunderstood what phrases like “the end of the world” actually mean?

We examine Ephesians, Hebrews, Corinthians, Genesis 1 and Job 38, asking what may have existed before the world was prepared for mankind and whether the sons of God were already present when the foundations of the earth were laid.

Then we turn to Revelation 12 and challenge the traditional idea that Satan and one-third of the angels were cast from heaven before Adam. Could Revelation 12 instead describe events connected directly to Christ's birth, ascension and the first-century tribulation?

We also examine the Olivet Discourse, AD 70 and the common argument for “dual fulfillment” before continuing our study of the Gospel of Nicodemus / Acts of Pilate. That text brings us into Pilate's trial of Jesus, accusations that Christ was a sorcerer, Nicodemus defending His miracles, Jannes and Jambres, and eventually a fascinating discussion about Hades, Tartarus and the biblical underworld.
