Does your mind feel constantly busy, even when you’re supposed to be resting? Maybe you’re scrolling more, struggling to concentrate, overthinking everything or wondering where your creativity has gone.
In this episode of Confusion to Clarity, I’m exploring why our brains can become so overloaded — and why it isn’t simply about spending too much time on social media.
Between work, family life, messages, emails, mental load, endless to-do lists and being constantly contactable, many of us rarely experience a moment where nothing new is coming in. And when we finally do get some space, we often automatically fill it with scrolling, podcasts, notifications or more information.
I talk about the difference between physical rest and mental rest, why a fragmented day can leave you feeling as though you’ve achieved nothing, and how constant input can affect your attention, creativity, intuition and ability to hear your own thoughts.
You’ll also learn some simple, practical ways to create more mental space, including reducing unnecessary input, getting open loops out of your head, using Morning Pages or a brain dump, keeping a “done” list, deciding what genuinely needs your attention and deliberately creating small pockets of time where you simply allow yourself to be.
If you’ve been feeling mentally overloaded, distracted, overwhelmed or like your brain never really switches off, this episode will help you understand why — and give you some practical ways to release some of that pressure.
