Bonnie's dad Brian surprised his then-wife with a little black pug for her birthday, and eight years, one pug custody swap and a trip across the ditch later, Bonnie is the one snoozing next to him in Melbourne with her favourite slipper from home.
Brian walks us through flying a pug from New Zealand to Australia (no quarantine, but you do need an agent, a vet check and a waiver for snub-nosed breeds) and the lessons he learned picking her up at Tullamarine in the peak of summer.
Then it gets gloriously silly: Kiwi pug meetups versus Pugwood, spa pool paddles for pats, Bunnings basket etiquette, a serious cat poo habit, and the question every pug pawrent secretly asks. Do your puggie's paws smell like cheese too?
