Tuesday night, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said that Julian Sayin would be out "indefinitely" after suffering an injury against Indiana, and left the door open to either Luke Fahey or Tavien St. Clair winning the starting job to replace him.
Day said, "Luke’s been ahead of Tavien in terms of what we’ve seen, but now that we have a bye week, these guys are both going to get a lot of reps, and we’re going to start to put together a plan on how we’re going to move forward. We’re going to play the guy that gives us the best chance to win.”
Ross Fulton, one of the scheme insiders at BuckeyeInsiders.com, joins host Tom Orr to discuss who he expects to be the winner of the new in-season quarterback battle.
Plus, what does the Ohio State offense lose without Julian Sayin out there, and where could the new starter potentially represent an upgrade?
Then, a discussion about how the offense and playcalling could change with the new starter, which passing concepts they might lean on, why it might be an upgrade in the red zone, and what to expect from USC defensive coordinator Gary Patterson when the Buckeyes make the trip west to take on the Trojans next week.
