How do you get into tech sales with no sales experience? Mishell Zeeshan had never considered a career in sales. She landed her first SDR role while still completing a psychology degree in Oslo — and was promoted to Account Manager within eight months of starting.
She found Entr Tech scrolling TikTok, booked a call, and became our first student in Scandinavia. She landed at a Swedish HR tech company, worked the role full time while studying full time, and moved from SDR to Account Manager in seven to eight months. Six months in, recruiters were approaching her without her even looking.
Her verdict on the whole thing is the part most people won't expect: getting promoted was easier than getting hired in the first place. Breaking in is the hard bit.
She now works as a mentor and coach on the Entr Tech programme, and is training with Hintsa Performance — the coaching firm behind multiple Formula 1 world champions.
If you're applying for SDR or BDR roles and getting nowhere, her diagnosis is blunt: most applicants don't actually know what the job is. As she puts it, applying blind feels like manoeuvring a car in the dark.
