Lisa Smith teaches writing and early American literature in the English department of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Her Square Halo book Godly Character(s): Insights for Spiritual Passion from the Lives of 8 Women in the Bible explores the topic of passion for God by examining eight often overlooked biblical women. Lisa also writes on the history of religious revivals and is currently working on a book on the writings and life of the English revivalist preacher George Whitefield.
