In this episode, we tackle the final stretch of Aldarion and Erendis—affectionately known as “The Further Course of the Narrative”…or, more accurately, Tolkien’s collection of notes, gaps, and contradictions. As we piece together what we can, we follow a newly crowned king who immediately heads back to sea, a questionable eagle “figure” taking center stage, and a haven that just won’t cooperate with the ocean. Along the way, we meet the wonderfully complex Ancalimë, revisit Erendis’ strong opinions, and wonder who exactly was in charge of Númenor while Aldarion was off doing his thing. It’s messy, incomplete, and surprisingly fun to unravel.
