Batesville-based Margaret Mary Health has officially opened its new $125 million hospital, replacing its more than 90-year-old facility and launching the first phase of a larger health and wellness campus. Varcity has closed financing for a retirement community planned in Purdue University's Discovery Park District, with construction expected to lead to a summer 2028 opening. Eight Indiana regions are competing for a combined $120 million in grants to improve health care access in rural communities. Indiana state agencies are increasingly using artificial intelligence for behind-the-scenes work, from speeding investigations to improving government services. Muncie-based First Merchants Bank is investing $6 million to expand its footprint in southern Indiana, including a new banking center in Floyds Knobs and upgrades to 14 existing branches. Plus, farmer sentiment declined for a third straight month in June as producers continued to cite high input costs and low crop prices as their biggest financial challenges.
