In this episode, we speak with Julien Genestoux, Founder and CEO of Unlock-Protocol. Julien has to be one of the most likeable guests on the show thus far! Julien commenced his entrepreneurial endeavours unintentionally founding and running the most popular job board for French college students at the time. From here, he started his second venture, Superfeedr, innovating on RSS feeds used in podcasts and alike. Julien made a successful exit from his second start-up, with a sale to Medium that saw him join their team as a lead engineer. Now, with Unlock, Julien is innovating online memberships. Problem: most revenue online is captured through the use of ads, and any site that has adopted a membership model requires separate UN and PW across multiple platforms. Unlock’s solution: NFTs as proof of membership. This allows users to hold an NFT in their respective wallets, allowing access to private content, unique opportunities, or exclusive communities. And all of this without the need to remember any login details!
