We’re revisiting Season 9’s “Absolute Justice,” and we absolutely LOVED this one. Smallville goes full DC Comics as the Justice Society of America enters the story, bringing Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Stargirl, Checkmate, and a whole lot of superhero history along with them. This two-part event honestly feels more like a Smallville movie than a regular episode, and we’re geeking out over seeing Clark come face-to-face with the generation of heroes that came before him. We talk about Hawkman and Oliver’s wonderfully chaotic rivalry, Kent Nelson’s heartbreaking story as Doctor Fate, the JSA’s legacy, and those HUGE glimpses into Clark’s future as the hero who will lead a new generation. Plus, Martian Manhunter is back, Amanda Waller is pulling the strings, and Smallville suddenly feels like one enormous living DC Universe. This is the kind of episode Going Back to Smallville was made for.

Each week Matt and Maggie produce a variety of shows on YouTube and podcast services with a positive nerdy spin. We like to keep things fun and light by simply geeking out over the things we love. If you're looking for drama and toxicity, we're not the droids you're looking for.
