About the Session:

In this talk, Tam shares how to set up a school year that doesn't run on nights and weekends. Drawing on her own experience as a teacher and assistant principal, she reframes wellbeing as something you design into your week from the start, rather than something you try to recover on a Sunday.

She walks through three practical places to build your year differently: simplifying your systems so you make fewer decisions from scratch, setting realistic expectations and boundaries that protect your time, and building the routines and calm classroom that stop behaviour from draining your energy all day. Honest, practical, and grounded in real classrooms, it's a talk about designing a year you don't need to recover from, so there's something left for the parts of teaching you actually love.
