Ep 40: Type 6: The Shadow of Security—Fear, Projection, and Inner Authority

In this Week 9 reflection on Shadow Work & the Enneagram Lines, we continue our journey through the Head Center with Type 6 and the shadow of security—where the sincere desire to discern what can be trusted can gradually become organized around fear and projection. Through the Enneagram as a map of consciousness and Centering Prayer as a contemplative practice, we're invited to notice where we search for certainty, demand guarantees, or look for the danger "out there," and to discover the deeper invitation beneath it all: not certainty, but a living faith—and the recovery of an inner authority that was never entirely outside of us. This reflection opens a path toward integrating the energies of points 3 and 9—recovering confidence and decisive action, grounded presence and peace, and the felt sense that we are held within something larger than our fears.
