Once there was nothing in the universe, not even the sun, the moon, and the stars. Then Pwanku, the Chinese God of Creation hatched from chaos like a chicken hatching from an egg. Pwanku is also known as Pan Gu or Pangu. This Chinese creation tale was collected by Rachel Mary Fleming, who published a selection of myths and tales from around the world in 1922.
