Allah has taught us to treat our parents with kindness and be obedient to them as they are the biggest benefactor of their children in this life.
It is impossible for a child to return the favor his/her parents have done him/her, but there is a sigh of relief as Allah has told us to do what we can do.
This dua for parents is from the Qur'an. It is mentioned in Surah Al-Isra Ayah 24.
