This session provides an overview of the history of African Journals Online (AJOL), highlighting key milestones and lessons learned from supporting scholarly publishing across Africa. Participants are expected to gain insight into the Journal Publishing Practices and Standards (JPPS) framework and its role in strengthening quality assurance, transparency, and best practices in scholarly publishing. The session also showcases AJOL’s advocacy for Diamond Open Access to promote equitable and sustainable scholarly communication.
