Question from Beau M
So I recently was able to add a gun to my collection that I’ve wanted for close to a decade now, the SCAR 16 (in the accuracy enhanced FDE of course). I got an amazing deal on one of the O.G. Belgium ones with the reciprocating charging handle. I knew it had a bad reputation with the RCH, and there were literal celebrations in the internet streets when FN announced the NRCH version, but I wanted it and went for it anywaysAfter shooting it for a while I’m left with a question, why in the hell did everyone bitch and moan about the reciprocating charging handle on these things? The handle going forward on each shot seems to settle the gun back on to the target (that is, for what little recoil there is for 5.56) and holds open when your out as a visible indicator.
Am I missing something? My first though was it’s all just whiny internet pussies who are blissfully unaware that the AK wielding commies of the world have been using the RCH just fine for over three quarters of a century. Then I read that the SOCOM dudes who tested it complained about it, which kind of nixed that idea.
So what is it? Is it that SF dudes hate change and dont want to retrain? Then the pretend internet warlords hear that and just go on parroting, “Well SOCOM hates it, so it sucks!”? I know the 17 beats up optics, but that’s not much of an issue on the 16. Hoping one of you dudes/dudette may be able to shed some light on this for me and that maybe I can learn something that I’m not aware of before it happens.
Question from Karl F
Lets imagine a scenario where you have only one rifle, a 14” 308 which you will be using for both home defense and hunting whitetail out to 300 yards. What would your ideal optic be for this dual purpose rifle? Much thanks for your insights.

Question from Cowboy from MI
Jeremy, did you sell out of the R3T4RD serialized guns? If so, how long until you start building N1GG3R serialized guns? What type of firearm will they be? Will they be the same as the R3T4RD? Perhaps I would like to acquire one, in Minecraft obviously.
Question from Charles M
Long-time listener here—I dropped off for a few years but have been back for about a year now and really enjoying the show again.A few quick questions:
* What happened to having a female presence on the show? I remember some past issues but never caught the full story.
* For Jeremy—I was stationed in Flores (Area 41) at Camp Pendleton from 2002–2006. Were you there around that time?
* And what’s the deal with the .300 Blackout hate? I get the cost, but it’s been a solid, reliable caliber for me.
Appreciate the content—glad to be listening again.
Question from anonymous coward
I was recently on vacation in a *redacted* coastel town and saw some small ocean sized sail boats in the docks, think 30-50′ long, small cabin, probably room for 1-5 people.
this made me start wondering what guns would be ideal for long trips through dangerous places full of dune coons, burrito bandits, and head hunters while on a small boat?
I’m thinking a barret and an Mp5 with a drum along with something concealable for shore trips would be handy.
what would each of the cast members take with them for such a trip solo or with friends?
Question from Seth C
We welcomed our first child earlier this year, since then my wife has expressed interest in carrying a firearm. We’ve already been working on her becoming more proficient with her pistol, and even signed her up for some classes. She will more than likely “Off-body” carry, so I’ve been looking at some cross-body edc bags for her like the Savior Obscura for example. Wanted to see if you guys had any recommendations or thoughts on cross-body carry bags? Thanks.
