If God is Love, Why are Christians Afraid of Empathy? with John Pavlovitz

Dela

Empathy is increasingly being framed as a threat to truth, but John Pavlovitz argues it’s not weakness, it’s a strength that Jesus modeled even as he confronted harmful systems.

This episode covers Christian masculinity and the ways we define strength, the grief of leaving fear-based theology, deconstruction and the spiritual exhaustion that comes with trying to embody the words and ways of Jesus in a divided world.

Share this episode with someone trying to disentangle their faith from what John calls a “Jesus-less Christianity” to discover something much bigger on the other side.
