In this episode, Cherise is joined by Donesh Ferdowsi, Project Designer at Snohetta's New York Offices. Snohetta has offices in Oslo, Paris, Innsbruck, Africa, New York, China, Korea, and Melbourne. They discuss the Sentry Bridge project in Watkins Glen State Park at Watkins Glen, New York.
For nearly two centuries, Watkins Glen State Park has used bridges, paths, and overlooks to guide visitors through its dramatic gorge. The experience is defined by the close relationship between people and the landscape—moving alongside waterfalls, through narrow passages, and beneath towering rock walls. Custom bronze castings depicting local flora and fauna—including an endangered dragonfly and rare plant—along with a model of the historic bridge, give visitors tactile reminders of the gorge's natural and cultural history.
