On this episode of the Building Faith Podcast, I sit down with Jae Ricks of Jae Elle Consulting for a much-needed conversation about trauma, faith, relationships, healing, and what it really means to become trauma-aware.
We talk about the wounds people carry that others may never see, how unresolved trauma can show up in our relationships, why accountability is still necessary even when there is a reason behind our behavior, and how we can love people without allowing their pain to continuously wound us.
But we also asked the question at the center of it all:
How does Jesus respond to our trauma?
Because healing doesn't mean your story disappears. Your scars don't have to become a source of shame—they can become evidence that what hurt you did not have the final word.
And one thing we want the Body of Christ to hear clearly: faith and therapy do not have to be enemies. 🙌🏾
This conversation is for the person who has been hurt, the person trying to heal, AND the person trying to understand how to love someone who is hurting.
You are seen.
You are loved.
And healing is possible. 🤎
