Today, we are tackling something that is somewhat ingrained into our culture. That is the language of victim blaming.
Phrases we hear all the time, subtly redirects attention away from the actual wrongdoing and onto the person who was harmed, creating confusion and self-doubt over time. Victim blaming rarely sounds harsh at first—it often comes wrapped in "advice," "wisdom," or even spiritual language. Without awareness, a woman can internalize responsibility for something she didn't cause, which quietly deepens shame and confusion.
We Will be Discussing:
What are some women's experiences with the language of victim blaming?
What is the harm in the language of victim blaming?
