Some of the most spiritual words a leader can say are also the most practical: “I am not God.” If you’ve been carrying your company, your team, or your ministry like it all depends on you, this conversation is a reset for your mind, your schedule, and your soul.
We dig into the theology of limits and why your finiteness is not a failure. Limits existed before sin, which means boundaries, rest, and focused assignment are part of God’s design, not a modern weakness. I unpack the “cup and fountain” picture: you can be filled and poured out, but you are never the source. God is limitless, and that truth frees us to stop pretending we are limitless too. Along the way we ground this in Scripture and classic Christian theology, including the good news that God does not burn out, grow weary, or run out of wisdom.
Then we bring it straight into leadership practice with Moses and Jethro in Exodus 18 and the warning every high-capacity leader needs to hear: trying to do everything yourself “is not good,” and it will wear you down. We talk delegation as humility, why control blocks growth, and why “faithfulness” is not saying yes to everything. We also name the real drivers behind overwork: people pleasing, fear of stillness, a hustle culture that rewards nonstop output, and the need to feel indispensable. You’ll leave with a clearer framework for Christian leadership, burnout prevention, healthy boundaries, and sustainable work-life balance rooted in biblical business principles.
