Christianity is broken into various denominations, and countless interpretations of them. Recently there's been an increase in claims about the supremacy of Orthodox Christianity. Attempts to acquire interviews with orthodox Christians have resulted in requests for money or insults. On this episode, we go to the source and explore the tenants of orthodox theology: the Trinity, Jesus as God, the resurrection, salvation, the scripture, the ancient church, the seven sacraments, the Eucharist, Mary as the bearer of God, the Saints being honored, the icons, and life after death. Objectively, what we find when examining these ideas is that they are evolutions -- for better or worse -- of far older and universal spiritual and religious concepts. The prehistory of such ideas is usually dismissed with aggression or attempted pseudo intellectual "got yas," with a mix of fallacy and circular logic. But what if we were to argue that the prehistory confirms the importance of such tenants; even if it also proves that they are not unique, nor are they the only answer to the issue of theosis.
