Dr. John Oakes…. John holds BS in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut, dual PhD in chemistry and physics from the University of Colorado. John has served as a minister and teacher in the church speaking in 80 countries and at 60 universities around the world, and as well as a professor in several universities, including UCSD, Mesa College, and Marian College over the past nearly 40 years until retiring from his professorship in 2018 and taking on a full-time ministry position pastoring the Bakersfield Church of Christ in California. John is the author of fourteen books including; Is There a God? Questions of Science and the Bible, Reasons for Belief: A Handbook of Christian Evidences, and 3 volumes of church history entitled, “The Christian Story” with a 4th volume to be release.
