Reshma Sohoni is the Founder and Managing Partner of Seedcamp. As an immigrant coming to work in a British firm, Reshma felt like she ‘didn’t fit in’ and quickly realised that if she wanted to be part of a world she’d like to live in, then she would have to go out and make it. This led her to establish Seedcamp in 2007.
Seedcamp have since backed over 300 businesses and are considered to be one of the largest Seed investment companies in Europe. Whilst with all their success, Reshma reminds herself and team to ‘stay hungry and alive’ as an organisation. The ecosystem is maturing and the competition is as high as ever.
This episode truly focuses on the evolution, from Seedcamp’s early days as an accelerator into a funding business, the emergence of its own economy portfolio and their future growth and partnerships.
Reshma also doesn’t shy away from giving great fundraising advice too, reminding us that “the great founders are out there hustling and building relationships, not just promoting their product”. You’ll be left feeling motivated!
