'THAT'S WHAT YOU CALL A HERO' Son Reveals Dad Saved Two Children Before Dying in Waterford Arson

Dela

The son of a Waterford arson victim has revealed he fears for his own life after speaking out about the horrific attack that killed four members of his family.

Philip and Kim English and their two young sons, Callum and Jayden, were killed when their family home in Waterford City was deliberately set on fire on October 13, 2026. Two other children survived and were hospitalised with serious injuries.

In an emotional interview with the Irish Mirror's Shattered Lives podcast, John James English reveals he warned his family about potential danger before the attack and claims they had endured months of intimidation.

"I'M IN FEAR OF MY OWN LIFE," he admits, revealing he has received threats and online abuse since speaking publicly.

John James also shares the heartbreaking account of how his father reportedly rescued two children from the burning house before losing his life, describing him as a hero.

He speaks about the family's efforts to move away, his concerns over the Garda response and his determination to secure justice for his father, stepmother and two young brothers. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
