Are you scouting too much?
As deer season gets closer, it’s easy to feel like you need to keep checking cameras, looking for fresh sign, moving stands, trimming shooting lanes, and making one more trip into your best spots.
But at some point, scouting stops helping you and starts hurting you.
In this episode of Before the Echo, I talk about why sometimes the best thing you can do for your best hunting spot is simply leave it alone.
We’ll get into trail cameras, hunting pressure, bedding areas, access routes, historical information, and why constantly needing confirmation that a buck is still there could ultimately cost you an opportunity at him.
You’ve done the scouting. You know the terrain. You know where the deer want to be. At some point, you have to trust what you’ve learned and stop putting unnecessary pressure on the very spot you’re trying to hunt.
So when does scouting become too much? And how do you know when it’s finally time to back out and leave a spot alone?
Let’s talk about it.
