For years, I swore that the second side of any record I played was louder than the first side. I knew it had to be in my head. It wasn't. When I began to delve deeper into the anatomy of records and the manufacturing process, I felt somewhat vindicated. I hadn't been wrong after all. It's all about the grooves.
