oin James Kline and J.H. Alison as Retro Blood continues our month of Satan in 1980s Horror Movies with the strange low-budget occult thriller The Nightmare Never Ends (1980).
We kick things off with our quick thoughts on this bizarre entry and quickly discover that this one might be more nightmare than movie! We discuss the painfully slow pacing, strange atmosphere, and why James had a hard time staying awake through this Satanic mystery.
Then we dive into the history and making of the film, exploring its low-budget production, unusual story, cast, and crew. We talk about how the filmmakers tried to mix supernatural horror, conspiracy, religion, and Satanic themes during an era when occult movies were becoming increasingly popular. We also look at the movie's strange production choices and why it feels more like an obscure television thriller than a traditional horror movie.
Finally, we deliver a full breakdown of the movie, covering the mysterious deaths, Satanic connections, bizarre characters, supernatural elements, and the moments that had us wondering exactly where this story was going. We break down the highs, the lows, the weirdness, and whether The Nightmare Never Ends deserves to remain buried in the VHS graveyard—or deserves another look from cult-horror fans.
It's Satanic conspiracies, low-budget madness, slow-burn horror, and one hell of a strange VHS experience—only on Retro Blood! 😈📼🔥
