October Sky (1999)

In a town where the only way to avoid working in the coal mines is to get a football scholarship, a group of boys dreamed of launching rockets.  That's right, this week we are discussing Jake Gyllenhaal's film lead debut, October Sky, based on the inspiring true story.  We cover topics such as the film's effective score, Natalie Canerday stealing the scenes she was in, and we pitch a sequel where a scientist parents living in a space town are dismayed at their son's predilection for digging and mining.  Enjoy!
