All of us, in our selfishness and ignorance, have blurted foolish statements and then wished we could retract those words. Jesus had been speaking about the cross when he asked James and John if they could drink from the same cup. They had been thinking about a crown and blurted yes. Jesus had explained they didn’t understand the words they were speaking.
