Andy Martino sits down with Mets legend Endy Chávez for the incredible story behind one of the most iconic defensive plays in baseball history.
Chávez takes us step by step through “The Catch” in Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS, from changing his positioning before the pitch to racing toward the wall, timing his leap and realizing the ball had somehow stayed in his glove. He also remembers the roar at Shea Stadium, saying he thought the stadium was going to collapse from the noise.
