Fellow Citizens, in today's episode, we cover an overview and the first portion of John C. Calhoun's speech given to the House of Representatives in April of 1816. In this speech, Mr. Calhoun pitches support for a protective tariff for American manufactures while also extolling the virtues of a system of internal improvements to further cement the discordant members of the Union.
