In this episode, Mary Purcell talks with Anik Waldow, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Sydney. Professor Waldow introduces Marie de Gournay, a French philosopher and writer at the end of the 16th century and beginning of the 17th century. They discuss Gournay's emphasis on the importance of alliances in the pursuit of personal flourishing as well as her views on the relationship between reason and virtue, self-identity, and intellectual courage.
