Christian Obumseli was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend, Courtney Clenney, in their Miami apartment in April 2022. Clenney claimed she threw the knife in self-defense after Christian attacked her, while prosecutors argued she was the aggressor. After four years of legal battles, disputed evidence, and allegations of abuse on both sides, Clenney pleaded guilty to manslaughter in August 2026 and was sentenced to six years in prison. But with no trial and no jury verdict, one question remains: Did she plead guilty because she was responsible—or because she feared what a murder conviction could mean?
