I assume that all the guys make friends with the girls only if they are "interested" in them. 

Very often they have hidden desires or maybe expectations. Sometimes they don't even know about it.

I don't say that it's all about sexual energy but there is something like that involved. 

Well in my experience, every guy "friend" disappeared once one of us was taken.
