The Master Tavern Keeper’s History of the Old World #276: “The Fellblade & The Fall of Karak Azgal”

Pull up a chair at the tavern in Tobaro, Tilea (Imperial Calendar 1563) as the Master Tavern Keeper, Heinrich, and Sedrik unpack one of the darkest chapters in Warhammer Fantasy lore: the forging of the ultimate god-ending weapon, the Fellblade, and the legendary fall of the Dwarfhold Karak Azgal. When Nagash’s Great Ritual shook the Under-Empire to its foundations, the Council of Thirteen knew they needed a weapon capable of tearing apart the Great Necromancer's immortal soul. Fusing stolen Gromril from Karak Azgal with raw Warpstone and quenching it in warp-corrosives and acidic bile, Clan Skryre and Clan Moulder created a blade so toxic it kills anyone who touches it. But who among the living—or unliving—could possibly wield it? Chapters: 1 – Welcome to Tobaro (1563 IC) & The Fellblade Mystery 2 – Nagash’s Ritual & The Panic in the Under-Empire 3 – Forging the Fellblade: Gromril, Raw Warpstone & Death Runes 4 – Karak Azgal (Karak Izril): The City of Jewels 5 – The Goblin Wars & The Last Stand of the Dwarfs 6 – Runelord Stormbeard Forgekeeper & The Secret Rune-Vault 7 – Heinrich & Selbar Greyfire’s Oath at Marienburg 8 – Tilean Secrets: Cosimo Baldacci & The Tortured Horned Skaven 9 – The Ultimate Sacrifice: Who Will Wield the Fellblade? 📜 Key Lore Covered in This Episode: The Fellblade: Forged from Dwarf Gromril and raw Warpstone, set with a Warpstone Eye in the pommel that allowed the Council of Thirteen to watch and cast spells through its wielder. Karak Azgal (Hoard Peak / Dragon Crag): Formerly Karak Izril ("City of Jewels"). Fallen during the Goblin Wars, its vast treasures remain hidden deep behind the Runelord Stormbeard Forgekeeper’s Rune of Hiding. Tilean Espionage: How Cosimo Baldacci invented the cipher disc in 1204 IC and extracted Skaven secrets through dark interrogations and badland seers. 💬 Tavern Question of the Week: If you were a mercenary in the Old World, would you brave the depths of Karak Azgal searching for Stormbeard’s hidden vault, or is "Dragon Crag" a suicide mission?
