The relationship between animals and humans was an important theme in Joseph Beuys’s artistic practice. In his work animals even became partners in dialogue. In this episode the Athens-based artists Janis Rafa and Jennifer Nelson explore the biological, ethical and philosophical dimensions of our relationship with animals. To do so, they take as their starting point video artworks they recently created for the project “Everything Is in a State of Change”: a project organised by the Goethe Institute Athens that refers to the work of Joseph Beuys.
